Steps to Create Curved Text in Canva
1. Enter your image text
Click the text icon to add a block of text to your Canva page.
2. Edit Image Effects
The next step is to click the effects button. This opens the effects menu.
3. Curve Text Effect
Next, you need to click on the curve button on the Shapes tab. This will automatically curve the text.
4. Adjust the curve
After selecting the curve button, you will see a value bar that you can adjust by dragging and dropping.
Increasing the curve level sharpens the text curve (a higher “curve value” causes the text to shift from horizontal to circular shape (at 100 Curve).
For example, a curve value of 10 is similar to a horizontal line:
On the other hand, a curve value of 90 will result in curved text that is almost a perfect circle:
A negative curve value works the same way but inverts the shape of the text. For example, you see a curve value of -30 applied to the same text.
How to curve a line in Canva
In this example, we’ll make a 90-degree angle, just like you’d make the top of a mountain, which is just a triangle without the base.
However, there is a curved line element… (Just go to “Elements” and then scroll; you’ll see it soon.)
You can even go a step further and connect two or more curved lines. But what if you want to make something twistier or not so twisty?
Draw a curved line in Canva
1. Add a contoured circle
Go to “Elements” and grab the empty circle with the outline.
2. Add a filled circle
Go to “Elements” to get another circle. This time it should be a filled circle with no circumference.
3. Change the color of the filled circle
Change the color of the filled circle to match the background color of the canvas (making the circle invisible).
4. Place the filled circle
Now all you need to do is move the filled circle to wherever you want, based on the type and length of the curved line you’re aiming for. You hide the outlined circle to get a curved line. It’s a scam, but it’s the only way to do it.
And we’re done.
